The starting point of this itinerary is located almost 3.5 km far from Accettura, along the route 277, direction Garaguso-San Mauro Forte.

The path crosses, touches and laps many farms, arable crops and pastures, showing the actual rurality of this part of the Park. The historical elements here join the ethnographic suggestions: along the route, it is possible to see the remains of rural medieval settlements, probably a squared fortification, dating back to the VI-X sec. a.C.

ITINERARY

Leaving Tempa Cortaglia at the back, start walking along a bumpy road leading to many farms of the area. Continue down for 2 km, surrounded by hills and small valleys designing the horizon. Not far from a farm, on the left you meet a dirt road leading to stream Misegna, the lowest point of the itinerary, at 500 meters of altitude.

After the stream, the route starts climbing until it reaches the top at Costa Raja. Here, among the ruins of a disappeared town, it is possible to observe graves excavated into the rock. After 3 km of dirt road, the path meets a new paved road offering various landscapes: from the green of the forest to the barren hill.Continue for other 3 km until you cross the path along which the “Maggio” tree arrives to the town.
